Job Creation
Access to a good paying job is part of the American dream. However, in these difficult times, finding and/or keeping that job is getting harder and harder. In the State Assembly, Tony Nunziato will invest in worker re-training programs that will help job seekers meet the needs of today’s global economy. Tony will also lower the costs for business owners by cutting the bureaucratic red tape that stifles job growth in New York State.
Taxes and Spending
For more than half a century, New York State government has borrowed too much and spent more than its fair share of taxpayer dollars. The result has been higher taxes, and out-of-control spending. As Assemblyman, Tony Nunziato will break this cycle and work to reduce taxes on middle and working class families. Tony will be Albany’s fiscal watchdog and will hold the line on wasteful spending.
Education
Working to fulfill the promise of higher standards, Tony Nunziato will secure record state aid for our local public schools. He will also spur initiatives that put the emphasis on results for students and prepare them for new technologies and the jobs of the future. Tony and his wife Dolores respect a parent’s role when it comes to the education of their children. That’s why he supports education tax credits for parents of parochial and private school students.
Environment
The florist turned politician, Tony Nunziato not only has a green thumb, but also believes in a green environment. During his tenure on Queens Community Board #5, Tony served as Chair of the Environmental Committee and was instrumental in the remediation of the old contaminated Phelps Dodge site in West Maspeth. Thanks to his efforts, a record $18 million dollars was secured to clean up the once hazardous location. In the Assembly, Tony will be a tireless advocate for cleaning the air we breathe and making New York’s future more sustainable.
Traditional Family Values
Families are the cornerstone of our culture. Tony believes that we need to do more to promote adoption as an alternative to abortion. He also supports traditional marriage, and abstinence education.
